Last week our class welcomed six new iPads to the first grade wing. Our class will be testing them out and getting them ready for the rest of the first graders. It was amazing to watch them use this 21st Century tool with ease! Over the next few weeks we will be using the iPads daily to test out new apps and during our center time. Our class sends a special thank you to the Teng family for the itunes gift card!
Reading Together
A major part of our day involves READING! Here are some dedicated students reading together!
Literacy Centers
This week we are practicing our literacy centers. In these pictures we were practicing our Write the Room Center. First graders were looking around the words that had a short a vowel sound and the /ck/ sound. They were also practicing working closely and cooperatively with a partner. These are great examples of on-task first graders!
Math Games
We have been so busy in first grade. Last week we finished up our handwriting practice books. We will continue to work on throughout the year! Here are a few pictures from indoor recess last week.
